Remembrance Day 2020

The Royal Canadian Legion, Enderby Branch 98, put on a moving Remembrance Day ceremony yesterday, pivoting

to a smaller, more socially distant service. Many thanks to the Legion members and to those who turned out and kept to their

bubbles, watching from vantage points around the blocks – and thanks to those who stayed at home to protect us all.

You can watch the HD service below.

Most of all, thank you to all those who have served, and who serve today, to keep us free and safe.

Scarecrows on the Street Results

**drumroll, please!**

It’s been a great campaign, with lots of hot competition between Scarecrows, votes galore, and plenty of good exercise for Enderby’s citizens!

Vote tabulation is complete, and we have a clear winner –

Priscilla is Queen! Not only of the Enderby & District Garden Club, but of the 2020 Scarecrows on the Street Enderby Competition!

Unlike in other votes this year, Priscilla of the Enderby & District Garden Club has taken the winning spot with a wide margin. Congratulations to the Garden Club, and we will be in touch for your promotional package!

However – we had a stunning upset in terms of other entries, which requires a second place prize:

Learn more about the new managers of Quilakwa RV Park in our member business spotlight interview below:

When did Quilakwa RV Park Start? The Park has been here for 30 years. I came on board 4 months ago. My family and I made the move from Vancouver Island to Enderby back in May.

What was your inspiration for starting your business? After spending 2019 travelling across 3 countries in 300 days . Staying in an RV with my family, we realized we loved the lifestyle and wanted to run a campground. We began the search which led us here to Enderby. It feels like home. It feels like this RV Park has just been sitting here waiting for us.

Tell us your favorite part of your work at the park. This is what our retired life feels like. It is very laid back even on the busiest of days. No day is ever the same. My favourite part about work is that I am working with my family. We all do our part to keep our RV Park as great park to stay. Making new friends as we go along.

Please discuss your reasons for being situated in Enderby.

When the search to find a RV Park to manage came up, there was a few we checked out. With Enderby, we loved the area right away. I grew up in the prairies before moving to the island. Enderby feels l like a little bit of both. Having the flat farmer fields surrounded by mountains is the perfect setting. Also being near water was a necessity for us. The sense of community is here. Our kids feel at home & happy. A good place to raise your family.

Tell us one thing in the past year that gives you the most pride of accomplishment in your work.

Our RV Park has never been run like the way it is by us. We are proud that we are showing everyone that this can be an amazing place to camp where we bring family fun & activities. A place to truly relax. Our washrooms are rated as the best, & clean by many of our camp guests. So much pride to have accomplished making our guests happy that they want to come back or stay longer.

Let us know about one or two product or services, promotions and items that you would particularly like to showcase.

During the summer we do activities such as Outdoor movie & popcorn on Friday’s. Saturday’s we do music bingo for the whole park. Next summer we hope to set up a tube shack for rentals & repairs.

Thank you for participating in our member spotlight interview!
