A time to honour, celebrate, and heal our river

On Sunday, September 25
2011, Enderby and Area F again took part in BC Rivers Day .
The Chamber is a proud organizer and co-sponsor of this event, which celebrates, honours,
and heals the Shuswap River.
Rivers Day volunteers arrived at Belvedere Park at 9am. Clean-up materials such as garbage bags and pickers were provided, as well as refreshments. Every volunteer received a lunch voucher that could be redeemed at participating restaurants.
Volunteers participated by walking, canoeing, kayaking, and boating the river with clean-up materials. Educational displays were located in Belvedere Park, by the Enderby Chamber.
Splats'in Councillor Randy WIlliams, City of Enderby Mayor Dee Wejr, and Area F Director and RDNO Chair Herman Halvorson provided opening remarks. Councillor Williams provided a traditional Splats'in song.
Sounds of Light Multicultural Society hosted a salmon painting
fundraiser facilitated by local artist Jamie Seward.
